Commmunity at The Heart of Our Thinking

Despite our significant growth, Exwold has proudly maintained its "family" atmosphere. We take our responsibility to the local community seriously and, as one of Hartlepool’s largest employers, we are proud to provide stable, long-term careers for over 120 people. We further invest in the local economy by prioritising the use of local tradespeople and suppliers whenever possible.

Our commitment to local causes is driven by our staff. In 2013, to mark Exwold’s 20th anniversary, our team voted to fundraise for what was then the Hartlepool Hospice. Through various initiatives, they raised over £7,000, beginning a lasting relationship with the charity, now known as Alice House Hospice.

Beyond charitable donations, we are dedicated to our local environment and wellbeing. We have sponsored the Wildflower Initiative in Hartlepool to encourage local biodiversity and continue to support our staff in their numerous personal fundraising efforts. Recognising that physical and mental health are paramount, Exwold also supported a local sports club’s inspiring outreach programme during the pandemic.

Most recently, we have funded a free breakfast club at a local secondary school. This project ensures students receive a nutritious start to their day during these challenging times. We believe that education is the cornerstone of a better future, and this initiative is a vital step in ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Growing a Greener Future

Our Environmental Policy underscores a sincere dedication to not only meeting but exceeding legislative requirements. We are committed to promoting sustainable consumption and reducing waste through the rigorous application of the Waste Hierarchy. By managing chemicals responsibly and investing in advanced technologies to lower water and energy usage, we strive to minimise our environmental footprint.

To ensure our dedication results in measurable action, we set annual targets that address specific areas for improvement, fostering a culture of continuous progress toward our sustainability goals.

We believe in celebrating our growth by giving back to the planet. To commemorate Exwold’s 30th anniversary, we proudly planted 30 trees in the National Forest. Furthermore, we have integrated the Treeapp platform into our ongoing corporate responsibility strategy, allowing us to facilitate global reforestation projects and offset our carbon footprint in real-time. These initiatives serve as living symbols of our long-term commitment to a greener, more sustainable future for the communities in which we operate.

Our Ethical and Environmental Responsibilities

Exwold’s technologies and products are used by a variety of businesses across a variety of industries. We take our wider responsibilities seriously and are always mindful of the impact we have on our world. Whether it be in transport, food, safety or the environment, our ethical responsibilities to our communities is at the heart of our thinking. Improving the quality of people’s lives comes first.
